Auf der Verso-Seite des letzten Blattes einer Lage geschriebenes
oder gedrucktes Wort oder Wortsegment, das den Textanfang der ersten Seite der
folgenden Lage vorwegnimmt und damit die richtige Zusammenstellung der Lagen bei
der Bindung erleichert. Gelegentlich auch verwendet als Verknüpfung zwischen Bögen
einer Lage oder gar zwischen Einzelblättern. Die übliche Platzierung ist im
Seitenfuß in der sog. Anweisungszeile.
Definition (englisch)
A handwritten or printed word or word segment on the verso page
of the last leaf in a gathering which anticipates the text beginning on the first
page of the following gathering and thus facilitates the correct collation of the
gatherings during the binding. Occasionally also used as a connection between
sheets inside a gathering or even between single leaves. The usual placement is in
the page bottom in the direction line.
